CoH Stories:

I got involved in the Corner of Hope initiative in 2017 after doing my certificate training at St Ann's Montessori training college in Nakuru. I remember how I found the children at Corner of Hope to demonstrate such remarkable order and independence. I started my classes with the complete set of materials that I had made during my training. The children were attracted to the beautiful materials in the environment, but parents did sometimes feel challenged, as they were not familiar with the system. Over time, the community and the parents developed an understanding of what the Montessori method entails, and they started to embrace it.
My dream for the future of Corner of Hope is to fully develop and for Corner of Hope Kisima to have a beautiful school compound like the one in New Canaan.
I love working at Corner of Hope and I have learned a lot in my time here, the most special thing I have learned is that having mixed aged groups is the best thing ever. I have also learned to use all the Montessori materials, which are beautiful and interesting. My favourite piece of Montessori materials is the number rods.

My dream for the future of Corner of Hope is to fully develop and for Corner of Hope Kisima to have a beautiful school compound like the one in New Canaan. I also dream to study elementary and learn more about Montessori.
